Bound to God's Love —
God’s Perfect Timing

By The Rev. Dr. Paul A. Leggett
Thursday, December 25, 2008 · Christmas Day

Sermon Text: Galatians 4:1-7
Sermon Theme

According to the Apostle Paul, Jesus was born “in the fullness of time.” But why would God have arranged for Jesus to be born at such a dangerous and hostile time? Was God’s timing off? No. Because of the unique conditions of the Roman Empire under Caesar Augustus, including the existence of one world language and open borders, the Gospel could be spread quickly and widely. God’s timing was perfect, and it is perfect in our lives too, but it is not our timing.
