Sermon Series: Prayers of the Bible
Sermon Text: Daniel 9:3-10, 15-19, Matthew 5:14-16
Sermon Theme
The Old Testament does more than just provide the precursor to the New Testament. This sermon looks at a prayer of repentance that Daniel offers on behalf of the Israelite people who are in bondage in Babylon. It seeks to gain an understanding of how Daniel’s prayer is as appropriate for the Israelites as it is for us today. This sermon also compares the the covenants of the Old and New Testaments, with the intent of gaining a better understanding of how we are to live as Christians in our current day.
